Why do you need to switch to VAST Free to Air Digital Satellite TV Service
Your current TV service (the analogue system) will eventually be turned off by the government to make way for the new digital services. The means over the next 12 months the quality of your current television service will get progressively worse. As the name suggests, it is a satellite service that gives you access to all the of the digital television channels available to the rest of the country - and there is no on going fees or charges. There is a total of 50 digit TV channels, of which 18 are the major network channels:

How much does the VAST Digital Satellite Service Cost?
There are no ongoing monthly fees like traditional digital satellite services. There is a one time installation fee, and from that point on the service is free. A typical installation costs $750; this includes satellite dishes, VAST decoder box, and full installation. If you have an existing Austar or Aurora satellite installation, the costs will be significantly less. |
